I am sure you always hear how easy it is to start making money with affiliate marketing. Yes, it is relatively easy to get involved in affiliate marketing and start making. Many have made money on there first day. That is because they avoided the common mistakes that most all other aspiring affiliate marketers make when they are starting out.

Here are 3 mistakes you should avoid if you want to me a successful affiliate marketer.

Mistake #1 – Not educating yourself

Too many people jump into the affiliate marketing world without taking the time to learn even the basics. Particularly people do not learn enough about PPC. They just join a bunch of affiliate programs sign up for google adwords and off they go. LOOSING MONEY!  They think they can just throw a bunch of ads up there and the money will start to roll in. It does not work that way. If you put all your money into PPC without taking the time to understand it you will go broke. Educating yourself is very important.  Just set aside an hour or two a day to learn about the business and before you know it the ball will be rolling and you will be bringing in the money.

Mistake #2 – Putting too many banners on their site

The second mistake newbies make is putting up a website and filling it up with banners and not enough content that will educate the visitors about the product they are promoting.  People come online looking for information. Not always to buy something. Always remember that. People are online looking for valuable information. If you provide them with valuable information about a product that can help them out then they will be happy to pull out their credit cards and make a purchase. The key is to educate them and not try to sell them.  Highlight all the wonderful things about the product you are promoting. Show the visitor how this product can solve their problem. If you do that, you will not have any problem making sales.

Mistake #3 – Promoting too many products

Do not overwhelm your visitors. Do not promote 10 different products about the same thing. I personally find the best product in a niche and promote just that one product. Some affiliate marketers promote 2 or 3 different products on their sites. Which is fine. It is really up to you. Just don’t give your visitors too many options. It confuses them and a confused mind always says no.
